What is Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II?

EIM NC II covers residential and building wiring: roughing-in and cabling, installing protective devices and grounding, and installing outlets, switches and lighting fixtures — following the safety rules of the trade.

It is a common starting point for electricians and is taught in senior high school TVL tracks and TESDA training centers.

What you will learn

The core units of competency in the Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II Training Regulation are:

  • Perform roughing-in activities, wiring and cabling works for single-phase distribution, power, lighting and auxiliary systems
  • Install electrical protective devices for distribution, power, lighting protection and grounding systems
  • Install wiring devices for floor and wall mounted outlets, lighting fixtures, switches and auxiliary outlets

On top of these, every TESDA qualification includes basic competencies (workplace communication, teamwork, professionalism, occupational health and safety) and common competencies for the sector.

The TESDA Women’s Center runs EIM NC II in about 220 nominal hours (28 days). Other providers may differ.
